About

Hello and welcome.

I’d like to tell you a bit about myself and in rebellion against what they suggest on the Artist blogs I’ve gone ahead and written in the first person.  Born and raised in Calgary, I discovered painting in 2014, and fell obsessively in love with the acrylic medium.  I found my style through hours of YouTube and at workshops with some amazing teachers, including renowned Canadian artists David Langevin and Heather Pant.

I enjoy painting mountains, rocks, rivers, waterfalls, lakes, and other places unmarked by people, using colours to enhance the wonder of the natural landscapes.  I work very hard to consider my environmental impact as an artist, from the ways I’ve managed to keep my waste paint out of the water supply, down to repurposing used materials when packaging paintings to be shipped.

I have a business degree from the University of Calgary and before taking this creative turn I was an aviation insurance broker.  I’m proud to hold a CIP designation from the Insurance Institute of Canada.  In my deep past I got my glider license and ultralight permit from Transport Canada and even took up hang gliding for a while.  I’m mother to 2 beautiful girls, and lucky wife to the best man in the world.

With every sale I pinch myself that others enjoy my work too. My paintings can now be found on display in various businesses in Calgary and Edmonton, and many homes throughout Canada and the United States.

I appreciate the opportunity to contribute a portion of my sales to not for profit organizations, which have included the Canadian Red Cross, Black Lives Matter, Bridges to Community Canada, Transform Salone, the Calgary Humane Society, the Cerebral Palsy Association, and monthly microlending through Kiva.org.
